Gary McCullum, Director of Choral Activities for Hattiesburg High School, is a native of Laurel, MS. After graduating from Laurel High School in 2010, Gary McCullum obtained a Bachelors of General Studies Degree in Music and a Masters Degree in Music Education from William Carey University in 2015 and 2023. Since the beginning of his career as a Music Educator, ensembles under Mr. McCullum's direction have received Excellent and Superior ratings. The vision for the Choral Arts Department, under the leadership of Mr. McCullum, is to expose students to the vast and wonderful world that surrounds them using music as a mode of transportation. The Hattiesburg High School Concert Choir has received numerous All-Superior Ratings at local and Mississippi High School Activities Association-sanctioned competitions and festivals and prestigious invitations to perform at the world-renown Carnegie Hall in New York.
